Coach Tery Corkran has put together a talented group of adult students giving them special instructions in the Mixed Martial Arts. All Adult Academy students are welcome to train with this elite group on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 PM sharp! While MMA fighting as a career is for a select few, everyone can benefit from this training and we welcome all who are interested to come and get a taste of what goes in to training for a cage fight.
Current or prospective MMA Fighters looking to join the team should call
the school to schedule a private workout and find out non-publicly-posted fighter
only training session times. MMA or No Holds Barred fighting is currently enjoying a tremendous surge in popularity
and is called by many commentators "the fastest growing sport in
America". This may be because of events such as King of the Cage or the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Both have been televised on Pay-Per-View and UFC has a
popular show (The Ultimate Fighter) on SPIKE TV. You may have seen
some of our fighters on HDNet, King of the Cage, Pay-per-View and other televised MMA
events. The sport of MMA is unique in that it does not fall within one discipline of martial arts. Many of the world's best fighters started with one particular discipline but quickly found that in a MMA match it is essential to cross train between martial arts styles. The study of many styles including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai
kickboxing, and Wrestling and various other martial arts are included in the training regimen of the
North Texas MMA TEAM.

Many NTMMA Adult students participate in
sport BJJ tournaments as a way of testing their skill against
unknown opponents. The team has been very successful at
the local, regional, national, and international levels in the
past ten years and has attracted several corporate sponsorships
to assist in the defrayment of gear and travel costs.
Students wishing to participate in the next sponsored event

At NTMMA we train Jiu-Jitsu daily, but when preparing for major
competitions we offer additional Gi BJJ classes. Feel free

home the hardware".

NTMMA BJJ Team competed this past weekend at the final
Machado Tournament Feb 9th. We will post official results once
they are on the Machado website, in the meantime here are some
unofficial results: Shawn Currie First Place, Scherrie Corkran First place, Josh Smith 2nd Place,
Ciprian Hangen 2nd Place, Andrew Simental 2nd Place....and lots
of others placed highly in their brackets as well, great job
guys and girls. Thanks to everyone to come to the Green Hills School on Feb 9th and
supported the team.
